Great wall clocks... functional and stylish!
February is a busy month as we stock our shelves to fill all the gaps left after the busy selling season of November, December and January. We attend trade shows where wholesalers present their new season ranges, eager to seek our approval and orders.
Trollbeads
We have already been busy and have welcomed new stock from Trollbeads. We have doubled our stock levels to meet the demand of collectors plus newcomers to this wonderful jewellery range.
Remember it is the original, still made in Denmark and does not attempt to fit in with other similar styles.
We have just unpacked a wonderful new set of 12 Amber glass beads... so if you are in love with the subtle and enchanting hues of this beautiful gem you need to have a look. They are $ 40 a bead.
We have also received most of the new silver ranges... by all means check out the websites and get us to order one in for you to see. You really do need to see them in the flesh as photos often make the bead look quite different.
We are thrilled to welcome back our KitchenAid demonstrator who will extol the qualities of the broad and solid range of KitchenAid Appliances. The demonstration will be held on Saturday 9 May from 10:00am to 1:00pm - just in time for Mothers' Day. The demonstrator is skilled and thoroughly informed in anything concerning Kitchen aid, even if it relates to an appliance we may not have on our shelf.
If you own, or aspire to own something in this range please visit us during this time and our expert can assist you in your queries.
Ilaina, one of our Saturday team members, successfully completed her VCE in 2008 and achieved her dream to study in Performing Arts. Sadly for us we will say goodbye to Iliana as she heads away from Melbourne to pursue her dreams.
Beth, another of our Thursday and weekend team members is flying off in February, on her long awaited world discovery trip with her boyfriend (my son!). The UK, Europe, USA and Canada are their destinations over the next twelve plus months... lucky Beth and unlucky us!
Joanne joined us last September and has fitted in very well alongside Nola, Anne, Mimi, Leonie and myself.
2008 heralded the final class for the So Swish Cooking School. The classes began in 2004 and successfully continued over five years. During this time we held over sixty-five classes featuring forty-five guest chefs - and more than nine hundred participants who benefited from the experience.
Geraldine Holmes, who presented thirty of the classes herself, coordinated the So Swish Cooking School classes. You can keep abreast of Geraldine’s activities and her wonderful culinary ways by emailing holmesdaw@netspace.net.au. Geraldine is running a Shop'n'Cook Tour of Queen Victoria Market on Thursday 7 May.
To all those who attended our classes, we thank you for your interest and enthusiasm. Thanks are also extended to Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School for allowing us to use their wonderful facilities at Hillsley. It was particularly gratifying to use facilities local to our community.

Last year our village was thrilled to welcome Stewarts of Ivanhoe. Stewarts relocated from the Ivanhoe Plaza to East Ivanhoe, just up the road from So Swish, and have been warmly welcomed into the centre.
As Stewarts is the supplier of many uniforms for schools in the broader community, it is wonderful to see so many new faces that seem to be discovering the delights of our great little village strip shopping centre.
